  Basic Components of computer Basic components are those which is essential for any computer. Without basic component, we cannot use computer for anything. Those are following: -   1.) Input device: - It is a device which is used to give data to the computer. It takes data from user and send into computer. For ex: - Keyboard, mouse, scanner, microphone etc. 2.) Output device: - It shows data or information in the form of hard or soft copy. For ex: - Monitor, Printer, Speaker etc. 3.) CPU (Central Processing Unit): - It process the data and convert into information. Also, it controls all other parts of computer. It process and controls the computer therefore, it is also called "Brain of the computer". It has two component ALU (Arithmetic and logical unit) and CU (Control unit).  ALU: - It stands for Arithmetic and logical unit. It performs addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, AND, OR, NOT etc operations. In simple word, we can say that it process that data. CU

   Characteristics Of Computer Computer have many characteristics. Some of are: - 1.)  Speed  : - Computer can process any data faster than humans. It can process any data within a second                         or a nano second.   2.)  Accuracy  : - Computer  always gives us 100% correct answer. It can never give us incorrect answer.                                Therefore computer is accurate machine. 3.)  Reliable  : - Computer is a relaible machine means we can trust 100% on computer that it can never                                incorrect. Reliable means trusty. 4.)  Multitasking  : - Computer can perform more than one task at a time. We can listen a song also can                                       write therefore computer is a multitasker machine. 5.)  Diligence  : - It means computer can never be tired. It can work continuously without getting  tired. 6.)  Automation  : - Computer can work automaticlly. If we give command one time after that it can work                 

 What is Computer? To understand the computer, firstly we have to understand data, process, information, and program. Data It is  raw fact or unstructured this which has no meaning.  Process It is step by step solution of any problem. Informtion It is processed data. It is in structured form and understandable thing. When data is processed then data becomes information because after process, meaning of data is found thus we cannot say that it is data thus that is called information.  Computer Computer is an electronic machine which takes data from user and convert into information. Any electronic machine which process data is called computer. Initially, it is made for calculating but now it is using everywhere like video editiong, scientific and engineering applications, business to store data, online services etc. thus now a days we cannot say that computer is a calculating machine therefore, we called computer is a machine which process the data and everything is data.
